Extra Curricular

New Life Christian School partners with families to provide a quality academic program with a distinctly Biblical worldview in order to equip students with the tools to integrate their knowledge and faith into the church, community, and the world. We believe that participation in extracurricular activities helps our students’ become more well-rounded individuals who will be well-prepared to serve the Lord in our community.

National Honor Society (NHS)

The National Honor Society was organized 75 years ago to recognize students who display outstanding performance in the areas of scholarship, character, service, and leadership. Membership in the NHS is often considered a valid indicator that the student member will succeed in post-secondary education and life. Students in grades 10-12 who meet the required standards in the four recognition areas may apply for entry.

Drama Team

New Life Christian School generally hosts two drama productions a year. Usually held in the Fall and Spring, individual students and even entire grade levels have participated in productions such as Fiddler on the Roof, Cinderella, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, Little Women, Pirates of Penzance, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, and Antshillvania.

Yearbook Club

Each year students work together to capture, record, and assemble the school’s events and activities into our annual New Life Christian School yearbook. Using an online yearbook application, students learn and enhance their skills in design, layout, photography, and journalism.

Ensemble

The purpose of NLCS Ensemble is to enable high school students to develop basic vocal techniques in a small ensemble setting through the study of varied choral literature. Emphasis will be placed on vocal technique, performance etiquette, sight singing and ear training, musical terminology, and understanding the use of song as a ministry.

Student Council

The purpose of the Student Council is to assist our students to become leaders that strive to practice good citizenship both at school and home, show respect to all individuals within the school/ community, help others to achieve their goals, bridge the gap between the school and community, practice democracy in action, and honor God according to Colossians 3:17. Student Council is open to all high school students that have and maintain a 3.0 GPA. Those elected by their peers will represent their classes throughout the year by “leading through service.” Duties include, but are not limited to, planning Homecoming, Spirit Week activities, Prom, and Carnival. We also provide service to the special events as needed. Training and equipping God honoring leaders that will one day help to change the world is our key goal. We would ask for your prayers throughout the year.

Athletics

New Life Athletics exists to provide support to the mission of New Life Christian School and New Life Church. We view athletics as an opportunity to glorify Jesus Christ through the conditioning and performance of young bodies and spirits in competitive play. We strive to present a unique kind of athletic competition–one that is a testimony to the power of Jesus Christ as reflected in the lives of our student athletes.
